Hi, I’m Elizabeth Urello. I live in Austin, TX, and I work for Automattic, the company behind WordPress.com. I help people with their blogs and websites all day long. Sometimes I give talks about blogging. I also write for the WordPress.com blog and The Daily Post.
Before I lived in Austin, I lived in Albuquerque, and before that, I lived in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, and before that, I lived in Chicago. In Brooklyn and Chicago, I performed a lot — I did improv comedy and acted in all kinds of plays from Kushner to Stoppard to Shakespeare. I also wrote and performed my own sketch and one-woman shows. Originally, I’m from Knoxville, TN where I went to high school and college.
When I first started this blog in 2007, I wrote a lot of humor pieces. Later, I wrote a series of fables for adults. I really enjoy traveling, and I blog about my travels, too. I also read a lot — too much.
I tweet sometimes, but I quit Facebook.
That’s probably all you need to know. Oh! And here’s a picture of me with some missiles:
